A BASINGSTOKE bowls club will be opening up its rinks to give members of the public a chance to have a go at the sport.
Loddon Vale Indoor Bowling Club, based in West Ham Leisure Park, is holding open days on Saturday, September 16 and Sunday, September 17 from 10am to 4pm.
Rinks will be available to play on throughout the weekend and novices will be able to have a go under the instructions of the club’s qualified coaches.
The event will also showcase some of the club’s best elite players on one of the rinks playing a full game from 10am to 2pm on both days.
Junior players will be present on Saturday morning and Sunday morning is the Isis Leagues.
Throughout the weekend food will be available and Basingstoke’s Long Dog Brewery will be supplying craft beer.
A free raffle will also be open, with prizes including a case of wine from sponsor Lamb Brooks, £100 travel voucher from sponsor Lewis Jones, a set of carpet bowls from Loddon Vale and a bowls measuring tape donated by one of the club’s generous members.
A club spokesperson said: “Join us on the day for a special reduced membership for the year if we can tempt you to play and meet new friends with this fun, social game indoors.”
