A POPULAR Halloween-themed pick-your-own pumpkin event is to take place near Basingstoke.
Wasing Estate will be opening its gates this Halloween for the return of its pumpkin event taking place during half term from October 20-29.
The event will feature a magical trail through the estate's woodland, leading to the pumpkin field where a fairytale pumpkin carriage will be set up as a photo opportunity.
The pumpkin field, in the heart of the Berkshire countryside, is home to an abundance of Jack O’Lantern pumpkins to choose from and take home and carve.
The Jack O’Lantern is a traditional variety, grown by Wasing’s organic farm team, and is great for carving and using in cooking.
In the latest offering for 2023, visitors will be able to navigate the twists and turns of the maize maze.
Hot and cold refreshments will be available at the end of the route including savoury snacks and sweet treats, surrounded by the gorgeous views of the estate.
Andrew Perkins, chief executive at Wasing, said: “We are so pleased to be welcoming visitors back to Wasing this October and are very excited by our fantastic new addition, the maize maze. It’s a privilege for us that Wasing’s Pumpkin event has become part of a tradition for our local community with families returning year after year to make magical memories.”
