THEATRE-goers are in for an evening of magical entertainment as the Basingstoke Variety Show returns to raise the roof at The Anvil.

The show, which will be packed with performers and is celebrating its 22nd year, will take place on Saturday, October 7 showcasing a range of acts, with the proceeds helping to boost the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane’s Charity Appeal.

The evening will include breathtaking routines from the Meraki Dance Studios and C&M Gymnastics. Among the musical acts will be the Basingstoke Filipino Choir as well as a rousing set from the Old Basing Corps of Drums.

Another highlight will include the Basingstoke Gang Show, featuring Scouts and Guides, bringing their own unique blend of comedy, song and dance back to The Anvil following their successful show earlier this year.

No variety show would ever be complete without performances from school choirs and this year the show welcomes children from Chalk Ridge Primary School, Great Binfields Primary School, St Marks Church of England Primary School and Tadley Community Primary School to the stage.

Mayor Cllr David Leeks said: “The Mayoress and I are really looking forward to an uplifting evening watching talented local performers showcase their skills. The show is always one of the highlights of the Mayoral year.
