A POPULAR play facility for children and families in Basingstoke has been temporarily closed following routine water quality testing that revealed unsatisfactory results.
Chineham Park splash pad has been closed by the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to ensure the safety and well-being of the children who frequent the recreational area.
The council, responsible for maintaining the park, said it places a high priority on the welfare of its youngest visitors.
Regular testing and cleaning of the splash pad are part of council's ongoing efforts to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for families.

The council said that efforts are already underway to expedite the reopening of the splash pad, allowing families to make the most of it before the autumn and winter months set in at the end of this month.
The facility has undergone a thorough cleaning and testing process, with the aim of achieving satisfactory water quality results as soon as possible.
The council said on social media channels: "The pad has been cleaned and tested and as soon as we have satisfactory water quality results, it will reopen for the rest of the season."
Residents and visitors eager to know when the splash pad will be back in operation are encouraged to keep an eye on the official Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council website and social media channels for timely updates.
