FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle a fire which broke out involving a large pile of household waste in Chineham.
Crews were called to a recycling yard in Whitemarsh Lane shortly after 11am on Tuesday, September 19.
A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews were sent to a site in Chineham this morning after a fire broke out involving a large pile of household waste.

"Basingstoke, Tadley and Royal Berkshire FRS firefighters were called shortly after 11am to the incident on Whitmarsh Lane.
"Assisted by onsite machinery, the firefighters were able to turn over the waste and dampen it down, containing the water runoff.
"Wearing breathing apparatus the firefighters used jets to extinguish the fire before leaving the scene at around 1pm."
Tadley Fire Station reported the incident on Facebook. It posted: "Today we have been in attendance at a recycling yard fire in Basingstoke alongside multiple other resources."
