SILVERSTONE's national 1.64 mile circuit was the venue for the penultimate race of this year's Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship and TOCA supporting classes, writes Tim Crisp.
In the BTCC, Ricky Collard had a mixed weekend with the first race on Sunday starting in the rain. He had trouble with grip from the Toyota Gazoo Racing UK Corolla GR Sport and finished in 20th position, but better results followed with a 14th in race two and seventh place result in the final race of the day.
As the team head for the final round at Brands Hatch on October 7-8, Ricky is eighth in the championship on 187 points.
In the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB races Edward Stanton racing in the amateur class in his 718 Cayman GT4 had three outings with a best place result of 12th overall in race three.
In the same championship and class, Matthew Kyle-Henney's best result of the day was a 10th position. This sees him now in third place in the title race.
Meanwhile, the best result of the day for Hampshire drivers came from Harry Foster in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship, with a sixth place finish in race 1.
Harry followed this up with an outright race-winning drive in race 2 in his Duckhams Yuasa Racing Team Parker 911 GT3 Cup Car, his first race win in this championship.
Harry is leading the rookie championship with 108 points. The final rounds for all of these champions is at Brands Hatch on October 7-8.
