The Basingstoke and District Bowls finals hosted by Oakley, were dominated by the two Alton clubs, which lifted four of the six principal trophies with Alton Social winning the singles and champion of champions and Alton winning the triples and fours.
There was, however, consolation for Basingstoke clubs with the Old Basing pairing of Chris Beadle and Roger Banister having a comfortable victory over Kingsclere in the pairs and the Basingstoke Town triple of David Morris, Bill Lawer and Richard Burgin winning an all-Town final in the Two Bowl Triples.
The two events with restricted access also saw local success as Tony Cooper of Howard Park beat Alton in the Novice Singles and Town’s David Bishop and Bill Lawer won the Over 60s pairs.
