THE MET Office has warned that Storm Agnes will hit the country this week.
High winds are forecast to batter the country, and National Highways are warning drivers to slow down and plan ahead to avoid using exposed sections of road if possible.
The Met Office named Storm Agnes on Monday, September 25, as it warned of possible 'danger to life' in some parts of the country.
A yellow warning for Storm Agnes has been issued for much of the country from 10am on Wednesday, September 27, to 7 am on Thursday, September 28.
The affected area spans from the southwest of England to Scotland and across to Northern Ireland.

We've taken a look at the Met Office forecast to see if the harsh weather will impact Basingstoke.
It looks like we will avoid most of the terrible weather.
The wind is forecast to increase on Wednesday at around 4pm. At 7pm, the wind gust will reach a peak of 34mph.
By 2am on Thursday the strong winds will finally die down.
Light showers are forecast between 7pm and 8pm on Wednesday, but no more rain is expected according to the Met Office.
