A NEW play area, jam-packed with exciting equipment including a zip line, has now opened.

The Whitewater Meadows in Hook, costing £150,000, also features climbing frames, slides, a seesaw, a roundabout, a trampoline, sensory panels and much more, and provides play opportunities for all ages.

Hart District Council said the new play area is funded by housing developer contributions.

Cllr David Neighbour, leader of Hart District Council, said: “Forward planning at the development phase of new housing areas is so important. We are fortunate that council officers planned early to secure contributions for this outstanding play area.

“We hope everyone can enjoy time spent outdoors at this site, in the new play area, having a walk or with a picnic. They can also support a local business with the pub just next door.

“This is a great representation of our values and vision to create the best place, community and environment to live, work and enjoy.”

Hart District Council countryside service manages the Whitewater Meadows.

The site is made up of a series of meadows and hedgerows running alongside the River Whitewater, providing a fantastic amenity for the local community.
