A HAMPSHIRE man has denied not providing pigs and cattle in his care with suitable feed which left them in poor conditions.
James Noyce faces seven animal welfare charges relating to alleged offences between October 2019 and April 2023.
The 33-year-old appeared at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, October 3, where he denied all the charges against him.
Noyce faces three charges of being the duty of a person responsible for animals to ensure welfare. It is alleged that on December 30, 2022, in Hook, he did not ensure that the needs of 31 cattle were met. He faces the same charge for 31 cattle between March and April 2023 in Ashurst, and 24 pigs on December 30, 2022.

In all of the above charges it is alleged that Noyce had not been provided suitable feed in a sufficient quantity and so were in a poor body condition and therefore their need for a suitable diet was not met.
He is also charged with failing to comply with an animal by-product requirement, and failure to register an animal to the cattle identification regulations in Kings Somborne and Stockbridge.
Noyce, from Ashurst, spoke only to confirm his name and issue not guilty pleas to all charges.
District Judge Stephen Apted adjourned the case to Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, November 1 for a plea hearing.
