AN INDIAN Restaurant in Reading has been nominated for an award in this year’s National Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards (ARTA).

Burghfield Spices at The Hatch Gate Inn on Reading Road has made it to the final four in the category of Regional Restaurant of the Year, South Central.

The South Central area includes close to 80 towns and cities, with Burghfield Spices being the only west Berkshire restaurant to be selected as a finalist.

The winner will be announced at ARTA’s Grand Finale & Gala Evening at the London Hilton Hotel on Park Lane on Sunday October 8.

Mashiur Rahman Buddy, the restaurant’s owner, took to social media to thank people for their support.

On the Burghfield Spices Facebook page, he wrote: “We're truly humbled and deeply honoured to share that The Burghfield Spices have been selected as a finalist in the National Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards.

“With the UK's vibrant culinary scene and outstanding options the competition is fierce. We're immensely grateful that our team at Burghfield Spices has been recognised amidst such excellence.
