FLU vaccination appointments have been cancelled by a high street pharmacy at its Basingstoke branch because of staff shortages.
Boots, which has four pharmacies in Basingstoke at Beggarwood, Chineham, The Malls and South Ham, said it had cancelled some flu vaccination appointments at its Beggarwood branch because of “unforeseen team member absence”.
A spokesperson for Boots said it had directed patients to the town centre branch in The Malls where appointments are available.

However, the Boots website showed no available flu vaccination appointments at any of the Basingstoke branches, including the one in The Malls, for the next two weeks.
The spokesperson said: “Due to unforeseen team member absence, we have unfortunately had to cancel some flu vaccination appointments in October at our store in Beggarwood. Appointments will be available in this store again in November.
“We are very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to patients. However, there is availability for walk-in flu jabs and appointments at our store nearby in Basingstoke town centre and we have been directing patients there.”

Boots has been asked for further information about the availability of flu vaccine appointments at its other Basingstoke branches.
