POLICE have thanked the public for their patience while they dealt with an emergency incident in Basingstoke town centre.
Emergency services were called to Alencon Link on Friday, October 13 at around midday and they closed the road from Eastrop Roundabout to Basingstoke train station.

A man had been reported throwing objects from a balcony at Skyline Plaza.
Other emergency services also attended the scene and the man was detained and taken to hospital.
A post from Hampshire Constabulary on X, formerly known as Twitter, said: "We just wanted to update you to say that Alencon Link has been re-opened. A man has been detained and taken to hospital. Thank you for your patience while officers dealt with this incident today."
