A TAPAS restaurant which only opened its doors in Basingstoke's town centre just over a year ago has closed.
Tapas Revolution opened in the Festival Place shopping centre in August 2022 to bring a taste of Spain to the town.
The restaurant specialises in Tapas – the famous small dishes found in every bar in Spain – offering a selection of food.
According to Google, the restaurant is now permanently closed and there appear to be no available bookings on the restaurant's website.

The Basingstoke restaurant also no longer shows up as a location on Tapas Revolution's website or on Festival Place's website and is not contactable.
Tapas Revolution was launched in 2010 by celebrity chef Omar Allibhoy in Westfield Shepherd’s Bush. He has since gone on to open a further eight restaurants in England including in Birmingham, Bath and Brighton.
The Spanish chef and cookbook author launched Tapas Revolution after discovering a lack of Spanish restaurants when he came to the UK.
Speaking to the Gazette during a visit to Tapas Revolution in Festival Place, Mr Allibhoy said he had been looking for a suitable venue in the town “for a long time”.
The 39-year-old father-of-three said he also noticed that Basingstoke has no other tapas restaurant, following the closure of La Tasca in 2016, which was replaced by Las Iguanas.
“There has to be some Spanish present,” said Omar, adding: “I’m a big believer in Spanish food. For me, it should be the same way there’s a sushi restaurant in every city, there should also be a Spanish restaurant.”

Dishes offered at Tapas Revolution included crispy slow-cooked pork belly with a sweet and spicy sauce; tiger prawns with garlic and parsley oil cooked in a traditional terracotta pot; and crispy fried aubergine with a spiced honey and thyme dressing.
Festival Place and Tapas Revolution have been asked for further information regarding the closure of the Basingstoke restaurant.
