RESIDENTS in Basingstoke and Deane will experience changes to their bin collections over the festive season.
The dates will change for over two weeks, with bin collections moved two days later up to January 5, with no collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.
This means residents who usually have their waste collected on a Monday, will have it collected on a Wednesday.
However, the collection for December 29 will be moved four days to January 2.
After January 5, collection dates will be moved by just one day, except January 5 when the revised date will be three days later.
Bin collections are expected to return to normal from Monday, January 15, 2024, unless adverse weather affects bin rounds.
For the first collection after Christmas only, the council will collect extra waste left by your waste bin.
The council will always collect extra recycling if it is placed in a cardboard box next to your bin or inside a clear plastic bag.
Wrapping paper cannot be recycled unless it is brown paper, so must be placed in your rubbish bin.
A council spokesperson said: "Please put your bin out by 7am on your revised collection day and remember, we will take extra rubbish in black sacks for your first collection after Christmas only.
"We'll also collect excess recycling anytime. Place excess flattened carboard, tins, cans and plastic bottles next to your green bin in a clear plastic sack (available at all major supermarkets)."
