TWO men were arrested in Basingstoke town centre as part of a planned police operation.

Hampshire Constabulary said the men were arrested in the Alencon Link area of Basingstoke at around 11.30am on Tuesday, November 21.

The men, aged 58 and 30, were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

Shoppers reported seeing several unmarked police cars arrive at Alencon Link, before police arrested the men near Sainsbury's supermarket in The Malls. 

The men are in police custody while police enquiries continue.
