A BASINGSTOKE man who strangled his ex-partner in a 'terrifying' attack and then threatened her with a knife has been jailed.
Kye Thomas entered a property in Basingstoke through the back door before causing damage to another door by "punching lots of holes in it".
He then went up to his ex's bedroom and grabbed her phone, throwing it against a wall.
The 26-year-old's violent behaviour worsened when he grabbed her by the throat multiple times and left her struggling to breathe.

On Friday, November 24 at Winchester Crown Court, Thomas was jailed for three years for the attack which took place on June 14.
He previously pleaded guilty to criminal damage and intentional strangulation.
Prosecutor Ellie Sheahan said that after Thomas made his way into his ex's house "he went up to her bedroom and grabbed the phone from her and threw it against a wall".
The court heard the victim tried to escape and leave the bedroom, but Thomas had armed himself with a knife.
Ms Sheahan continued: "He went back into the room where she was and tried to prevent her from leaving. He grabbed her throat multiple times and pinned her against the wall. He grabbed her throat to the point she could not breathe and needed water."
The prosecutor told the court he "repeatedly" strangled the woman and he "produced a knife and started shouting at her".

Judge Timothy Mousley KC heard that it was likely Thomas, of St Michael's Road, had been drinking on the day of the incident.
In mitigation, Adrienne Knight said: "He had really tried hard to turn his life around until this day but he was so upset and emotional.
"It is just the way he dealt with it, he was not thinking properly and he was not expecting what happened. He accepts his actions were unreasonably out of control."
In sentencing, Judge Mousley said the incident must have been "overwhelming terrifying" for the victim.
He continued: "You prevented her from leaving her bedroom, you stood in the doorway and you pushed her back into bed.
"You grabbed her by the throat on several occasions and you pinned her against the wall. You grabbed her throat so hard that she could not breathe."
