THE Rotary Club of Basingstoke Deane has donated generators to those still in need in Ukraine.
The club has donated three generators after the war has damaged the power infrastructure and now severe weather conditions have reduced the electric supply to 35 per cent of what is required to live a normal life.

It is not just homes that are affected by the lack of power, schools and medical centres are among the services which are impacted.
One of these generators will supply a small medical centre providing enough power to allow it to operate efficiently and supply a much-needed service to the community or heat a school and supply enough light for students to complete their education.
A small generator is of great value for communication in small communities where there is no electricity, as they can be used to recharge mobile phones and power laptops enabling contact with the outside world.
The club hopes to send another three much-needed generators when it can.
