A FORMER pub in Alton with planning consent to be turned into six residential dwellings is to be auctioned with a guide price of £390,000-£410,000.
The Kings Head, in Market Street, is among 149 lots listed across southern England and South Wales by Clive Emson Auctioneers, with the auction ending on Wednesday, December 13 and live bidding 48 hours beforehand.
The pub closed in 2019 partly due to structural problems caused by roof leaks, but also "lack of profitability".

Mike Marchant, a senior auction appraiser with Clive Emson Auctioneers, said: “Situated in the centre of the attractive Hampshire village of Alton, the former pub has planning for conversion to form six residential dwellings.
“The existing freehold building has consent to be converted to form four flats, with the two outbuildings to the rear to form one, one-bedroom and one two-bedroom dwelling.
“Land at the rear is deceptively large with room for parking for one of the dwellings and a private garden for each.
“The property’s guide price has been reduced from a previous auction listing and we anticipate keen interest.”
Of all the 149 lots listed by Clive Emson Auctioneers, 59 comprise vacant residential, 37 investment, 26 commercial, 14 development and 13 land.
