A BASINGSTOKE artist has been chosen from hundreds of entries to create a festive mural for a restaurant chain’s window.
Maria Katalin Hrivnak was chosen by Italian restaurant chain ASK to create a beautiful hand-drawn Christmas scene for the window of its Basingstoke restaurant in Festival Place.
The self-taught illustrator who loves working with different mediums and materials to create unique and insightful art was selected from hundreds of entries.

Maria, who has an impressive portfolio including work for baby brand Mamaruga for whom she designed the Zenslina baby carrier, created a festive scene including Italian favourites farfalle pasta along with Christmas decorations and beautiful Merry Christmas letterings using white acrylic pens.
The display will be on show at ASK Italian in Basingstoke with the unique design inspired by its location, including famous landmarks and historical figures from the area.

Corinne Prior, marketing director at ASK Italian, said: “Our Christmas artwork project is all about bringing people together in our ASK neighbourhoods. It’s fantastic to see so many wonderful designs across each of our restaurants, with artists from up and down the country leaving their mark in a beautiful way.
“We’re very much looking forward to welcoming customers – both familiar faces and new – to celebrate the festive season at ASK Italian.”
ASK Italian’s Festivo menu is available across the UK offering Christmas flavours across starters, main courses, desserts and cocktails, all with an Italian twist.
The set three-course menu is available for £27.50 per person.
