BASINGSTOKE Town walked away with a second draw on the bounce, drawing 1-1 at home to Beaconsfield Town on Saturday.
'Stoke, who are currently 13th in the league and continue to face injury problems, within eight minutes were down 1-0 after Beaconsfield took the lead from a header.
The Buckinghamshire side almost extended their lead on 28 minutes, but the assistant referee's flag was raised, which was a sigh of relief for Dan Brownlie's team.
Five minutes later, 33 minutes, 'Stoke's keeper Paul Strudley made a 'terrific save' to deny Beaconsfield's an extended lead.
Billy Upton gave the home side a glimmer of hope on 42 minutes, but his attempt from a corner hit the crossbar.
Going in at half time 'Stoke were 0-1 down, but it didn't take long for the side to equalise in the second half.
On 47 minutes, Upton headed the ball home from a corner (1-1). 'Stoke continued to push and Bradley Wilson attempted to put the team ahead, but his effort was brilliantly saved by the Beaconsfield keeper.
Beaconsfield went down to 10 men on 68 minutes, following a red card for Josh Payne. 'Stoke manager Brownlie said after the game "I don't think there was much in it" after seeing the reaction from Paul Hodges, who was caught up in the play which resulted in the sending off.
'Stoke continued to look for a winning goal, but Wilson's cross on 75 minutes hit the post.
Michael Atkinson was taken off in the 77th minute with a hamstring injury, which Brownlie called "a bad one". Atkinson was replaced by Noah Chengun.
Beaconsfield attempted to find the winning goal, with 'Stoke Paul Strudley making a 'brilliant double save'. The game ended 1-1.
Speaking after the match, Brownlie said: "It's another one of those games where we come away from going 'how have we not won it?', which is good in a sense because we are still playing positively and I am positive about the performance, it was a good one."
Basingstoke Town face Harrow Borough away on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
