A BASINGSTOKE ice hockey team now have life-saving bleed control kits following an incredible fundraising effort after the death of a Nottingham Panthers player.
In October 2023 Nottingham Panthers player Adam Johnson died after a fatal cut to his throat during a game.
Since then Erin Rose, a sports therapist for The Raiders NIHL team, set up Adams Angel's to raise money for enough bleed control kits for all 106 of the UK’s Elite Ice Hockey League and British National League teams.

Erin said: “A couple of days after the sad news of Adam’s death, I was compelled to try and do something. The whole ice hockey community was deeply affected and having witnessed some serious cuts on the ice myself, now had to be the time to bring some peace of mind to players and their families."
Turtle Defib Cabinets has now shipped the first batch of the kits directly to the National League, NIHL South and North Division 1 and 2 teams, including the Basingstoke Buffalo ice hockey team
