A PUB in Basingstoke's town centre has been 'permanently closed' and boarded up.
The Bakers, in Winchester Street, was spotted being boarded up by residents on Saturday, December 23.
The Gazette attempted to contact The Bakers online but was unsuccessful, as both the pub's website and social media channels have been closed. A Google search also stated that the pub is 'permanently closed'.

Owner of the pub, Greene King, has also removed it was an option when searching for the pubs owned by the chain in the area.
A post on the review website TripAdvisor, titled 'Sad to say goodbye', reads: "Always enjoyed popping into this pub, friendly staff and good service.
"Sadly the future for this place was written on the walls.
"Struggled to get clientele in this climate, hopefully the staff have been able to find employment elsewhere. Not nice to be made redundant just before Christmas."
It is the second Greene King to close in Basingstoke within the last few months, after The Beacon, in Kings Road in South Ham, closed in the middle of November.
As previously reported, The Beacon's assistant manager had hinted on social media in October that The Beacon would be closing by the end of November.

Later, Greene King confirmed the decision, though the official date had not been disclosed.
The reports of closure sparked a reaction from the community, leading to the creation of two petitions, calling the Greene King to ‘reconsider the decision and keep The Beacon open’.
However, the pub, well-known for its warm atmosphere and community spirit, officially closed on Sunday, November 12.
A spokesperson from Greene King said: “After seeing our customer numbers at the Bakers decrease over the past few years, we have taken the difficult decision to close. Our focus is now on supporting our team members from the pub and working closely with them to find them alternative roles at our other pubs in the area. We would like to thank all our customers who have supported the Bakers over the years.”
