ROYAL Mail has advised customers in Basingstoke that ‘resourcing issues’ at the delivery office have ‘improved’ following disruption before Christmas.
Royal Mail announced on December 11 that some areas of Basingstoke and Deane were experiencing disruption caused by sickness absences, vacancies, and an increased demand during the Christmas period.

A spokesperson for Royal Mail told the Gazette that mail was being delivered to homes daily in the area, however, some residents said they had not received mail for weeks.
An update issued to residents in Basingstoke from Royal Mail, said: “We’re pleased to confirm that the resourcing issues reported at the Basingstoke Delivery Office have improved, and services are recovering.”
It added: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.”
