BASINGSTOKE Town Community Football Club has paid tribute to a lifelong fan and former kit man Bill Galway who has passed away, aged 88.
Bill was well known behind the goal along with his late friend Derek with whom he worked tirelessly for the club for decades both as kit man and doing a range of jobs at The Camrose including painting and decorating.
He is remembered fondly for his colourful vocal support and how he cycled from Oakridge right up to his 80s to watch the team he gave so much for.
The funeral will be taking place at 9.30 on Tuesday, January 9 at Basingstoke Crematorium.
The floral tribute is going to be a football shirt in the colours of Basingstoke Town and also draped in a ‘Stoke shirt and scarf.
The club will be holding a minute’s applause before the club's next home game against Tiverton Town.
