A REPAIR cafe in Chineham where staff help people make use of their damaged items is celebrating being open for one year.
As previously reported, the repair cafe was opened in Chineham by Basingstoke resident Jonnie Jenkin last year.
The cafe is based at the Christ Church on Reading Road and was set up with the idea to give a second use to items that would otherwise be sent to landfill.

On Saturday, January 20 the team will be celebrating being open for a year and it will be open on the day from 10am and 1pm.
Jonnie said: "I am immensely proud of what we have achieved over the last year and the team we have put together.
"We are excited to continue our work in the next year and our expansion into a bigger room in the hall."
At the last event, the team had the "privilege of reuniting a much loved and treasured family teddy bear".
A few months ago, Steve came to the cafe with a teddy named Ruxpin that was in desperate need of repair.
The bear was brought by Steve's dad, as a gift for Steve's mum many years ago. Steve's Dad has since died and Ruxpin's voice box no longer worked.

Repairing the bear was a team effort. James, Ian and Jamie worked on the mechanics, whilst another team, Anne and Caroline took great care in unstitching it's head.
As a result the bear was returned "to its glory".
The team have said they are looking forward to fixing more things this year and Jonnie told the Gazette they are always on the hunt for more volunteers to join the team.
