A MUNTJAC which became trapped in a school gate in Basingstoke was rescued by firefighters.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called after receiving reports that a muntjac deer was stuck in a gate in Brighton Way, near Brighton Hill Secondary School.
The incident was reported to the fire service around 5.30am on Monday, January 22.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "A HIWFRS Animal Rescue officer attended a school on Brighton Way in Basingstoke at around half-five this morning (Monday, January 22) to assist with the release of a Muntjac deer which was stuck in a gate.
"The animal was freed and our officer left the scene shortly before 7am."
