A TEENAGE boy whose dad Paul used to be the tennis coach at Hampshire Court in Chineham, Basingstoke, has triumphed at the LTA Open Tennis Tournament held in Aldershot on Saturday, January 20.
Alfie Hand, 16, who lives in Winchester, was seeded second in the highly competitive field.
He battled his way through the tournament, ultimately defeating Gabriiel Kuras, also 16, from Middlesex, in the final.
Kuras, the seeded fourth, put up a valiant fight, but Hand proved too strong on the day.
The duo and the rest of the field in this highly competitive event braved cold but dry conditions to play outdoors at the Aldershot Tennis Centre.
The LTA Open Tennis Tournament is a popular event that attracts players of all ages and abilities.
This year's competition saw entries from players aged 12 to 50, with competitors coming from Surrey, Hampshire, Middlesex, and Oxfordshire.
There was even a father-son duo who took part, with the father narrowly winning the consolation final.
