A HOUSING development company has joined forces with a Hampshire nursery to celebrate National Story Telling Week.
As part of the national initiative, Basingstoke-based Bewley Homes organised a professional storyteller to visit Fairlands Nursery, in Shedfield, and engage the children with an animated and interactive retelling of the classic fable Three Little Pigs.
Nursery manager Lisa Hurst said: “We were thrilled to partner with Bewley Homes for this special celebration of National Storytelling Week. The children really enjoyed Amanda’s animated version of Three Little Pigs which is one of their favourites. Storytelling plays a crucial role in early childhood development, enhancing language skills, promoting creativity, and fostering a lifelong love for reading.”

“At Bewley Homes, we aim to contribute positively to the communities we are a part of. National Storytelling Week provides a wonderful opportunity to engage with local children, spark their imagination, and promote the joys of reading."
National Story Telling Week runs from Saturday, January 27 to Sunday, February 4 and encourages everyone across the country to read and share stories. Research has shown that even 10 minutes a day of reading and sharing stories with children can have a hugely positive impact on their development, both now and in the future.
