TWO men have been arrested after a man in his 40s suffered serious injuries in a reported assault in Basingstoke.
According to police, the man reported being assaulted with an unknown weapon just before midnight on Tuesday, January 30, on a footpath near Buckskin Lane.
Police were called to the incident at 11.24pm.
The man suffered serious facial and head injuries. His phone was also taken.

He was taken to Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital to receive treatment.
Officers investigating the serious assault have now arrested two men.
A 21-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and robbery.
An 18-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and possessing a controlled drug of Class B.
Both men remain in custody while enquiries continue.
Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses and information which may help the investigation.
