A TRADITIONAL country pub near Basingstoke has closed its doors just two months after it was put on the market in search of a new owner.
The Vine at Hannington near Tadley, a popular country pub among cyclists, equestrians and hikers, announced on its social media that it has closed.
Mandy Yellen, its current owner, wrote on Facebook: “It’s with great sadness that due to personal reasons, I have closed The Vine.
“I would like to thank everyone who has visited us over the past 13 years. My team and I have had the pleasure of hosting so many special occasions.

“I would also like to say a huge thank you to my amazing team past and present for their hard work and commitment. Thank you also to my family who have always supported me, we take away so many happy memories of our time at The Vine - Mandy & Terry.”
The Vine is a regular stopping point for hikers following the Wayfarer's Walk, a walk across land believed to have once belonged to the Duke of Wellington's estate.
In November 2023, the leasehold of the pub was put on sale at a guide price of £35,000.
Star Pubs & Bars is still looking for someone to take on a new lease which they will be advertising shortly.
