WORK has started on a new McDonald's in Basingstoke - and it is hoping to open 24/7.
The fast food chain will open at Chineham Shopping Centre and has submitted a licensing application to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to open from 5am until 5am.
The application also proposes ‘late night refreshment’ from 11pm until 5am from Monday to Sunday, ‘both indoors and ‘outdoors’.

As previously reported, a new McDonald’s will open at the shopping centre after the council granted permission to change the use of a retail unit to restaurant and hot food takeaway in August.
Construction has started on the unit, to add a new shop front, glazing, and entrance doors ‘allowing direct access from the car park’ as well as an ‘external seating patio area’ that will lead to three trees being taken down.
The unit at the shopping centre was previously occupied by McColl's and the Post Office, but has remained vacant since 2019.
The news comes after the company submitted a planning application to the borough council for a fifth location in Hatch Warren Retail Park. It already has restaurants already in the town centre, Brighton Hill and the leisure park.
