PEOPLE are coming together to join a heartwarming initiative to tidy up the children’s cemetery in Basingstoke.
To honour the memories of beloved children and encourage community spirit, two tidy up events at the children’s cemetery, which is in Rooksdown Cemetery, have been planned.
These events aim to create a 'nurturing environment where families can find solace and pay their respects'.

The first is scheduled for Sunday, February 25, followed by a second on Sunday, March 10, both starting at 10am and finishing at 12pm.
The events are open to all members of the community who wish to participate ‘to maintain and beautify the children’s cemetery’.
The idea came about following collaboration between local councillors, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
Simon Minas-Bound, borough councillor for Sherborne St John and Rooksdown, said: "We are grateful to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

"Together, we are dedicated to maintaining the children's cemetery as a place of solace and remembrance for our community."
Both children's cemetery tidy up events are open to all members of the community who wish to participate.
Anyone planning on helping are encouraged to bring their gardening tools, gloves, and suitable clothing to assist in the clean-up efforts.
