FOLLOWING successful green markets over the last four years, Greener Kingsclere will hold its first sustainability event focusing on energy saving.
The event is aimed at saving residents money and will be held on Sunday, February 25 at the Fieldgate Centre, in Kingsclere, from 10am to 12.30pm.
Alongside their regular repair cafes and clothes swaps, the group will be hosting organisations that can help residents save energy and money.

Attendees will be able to meet with Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s Green Team which supports residents and organisations in cutting their emissions and becoming more sustainable, including the offer of a free home energy survey.
Kingsclere Community Association team members will also be sharing their experiences of sourcing solar power for both domestic and commercial properties. They will discuss how to select a supplier, calculate cost-benefits and more.
Tadley’s Citizens Advice Bureau team may be able to help anyone struggling to pay home energy bills. Grants and vouchers are available to qualifying individuals, and there are other areas where the Citizens Advice Bureau can help.

Volunteers from the repair cafe will also be in attendance with the aim of fixing broken household objects such as a toaster, lamp, chair, toy, or torn item of clothing.
The event will also host a clothes swap area, where attendees are able to take away items they like, with financial or good quality clothing donations welcomed. All this and more, including refreshments, are available on the day.
The group's next sustainability event will focus on food and will be held on Sunday, April 14. This will also include the repair cafe, clothing swap and cafe.
More information, including how to register items in advance, can be found at greenerkingsclere.co.uk.
