THE Home Office is working to "establish the facts" after four people, including two children, were found inside a lorry in Basingstoke are believed to have entered the country illegally.
As previously reported, the incident happened on Tuesday, February 20 when police were called to a report they had been found in Knights Park Road in Houndmills.
Two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of knowingly entering the UK without leave.
Two children, aged 15 and 17, were placed into the care of social services.
The Gazette contacted the Home Office for an update.

A spokesperson said: “We are responding to an incident near Basingstoke and working closely with Hampshire police.
“Work is ongoing to establish the facts and we cannot comment further at this time.”
While Hampshire Constabulary made the arrests, Immigration Enforcement is leading the subsequent investigation.
A police spokesperson previously said: "We were called at 12.58pm yesterday to a report that four people had potentially entered the country illegally after they were found on Knights Park Road in Basingstoke.
"Two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of knowingly entering the UK without leave.
"Two children, aged 15 and 17, were placed into the care of social services."
