A ROAD in Basingstoke has been closed this afternoon following to a collision involving a police car.
Winchester Road was closed at just after 2.21pm on Tuesday, February 27 as emergency services, including fire, police and ambulance, dealt with the incident.
The road was closed from the Penrith Road junction to Wessex Close, with Pittard Road closed, whilst Wessex Close and Penrith Road remained open.
It is understood that three buses were 'trapped' in the closure area.

What happened?
A white Nissan Leaf and a marked police vehicle collided this afternoon, at 2.21pm, with police closing part of Winchester Road.
According to a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary, minor and serious injuries were reported following the collision.
Firefighters were also alerted to the incident at approximately 2.30 pm, with a spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue telling the Gazette: "Basingstoke firefighters were alerted to a two-vehicle collision on Winchester Road at around half two this afternoon.
"A number of casualties were released and passed into the care of South Central Ambulance Service paramedics.
"HIWFRS left the scene following the stop message at 15:37."
Bus services were also unable to run due to the closure, with Stagecoach services number 1,11, and 4, which serves Winchester Road from the Top of Town, and Winchester Road roundabout disrupted.
