A PHARMACEUTICAL services company that has invested millions in its Basingstoke facility received a visit from the town's MP.
Thermo Fisher Scientific, a pharmaceutical and biotechnology services company, invested £35m in its Wade Road facility to expand its manufacturing operation in the field of microbiology.
Dame Maria visited the site to take a tour of the facility's expansion, which will increase job security and bring in higher-level jobs with more technical skills.

Maria said: “It was great to visit Thermo Fisher Scientific and take a tour of their recently expanded manufacturing facility, which received a £35 million investment in 2023.
“Thermo Fisher is one of Basingstoke’s largest employers, and their recent expansion proves that Basingstoke is a hub for industries of the future such as Technology and Life Sciences, attracting more high-skilled jobs.
“Basingstoke is a great place to live, work and invest and it was good to visit yet another local business that has chosen to invest in Basingstoke because of our strong, vibrant economy."
The Basingstoke facility in Wade Road opened in 1975, with the company opening a distribution warehouse in 2020, allowing it to export its products to more than 75 countries.
