Alastair said: “Ever since I worked on the original Blue Planet, Planet Earth, and Frozen Planet series, I always wanted to cover the British Isles and our natural history with a similarly ambitious and epic approach. I knew that nobody had ever had the opportunity before to really do justice to the spectacular scenery and rich and varied wildlife found at home. When making Wild Isles, my hope was to genuinely surprise audiences with the richness of our natural history and for them to recognise how fragile and precious it is.
“Wild Isles Live is a chance to share never-before-seen stories from making our series and for audiences to discover why the story of British wildlife was one we knew must be told now. I’m excited for fans to join me at this special event and to experience spectacular UK nature on the big screen.”
At a critical time for our biodiversity, as highlighted in the BBC series, this is a special opportunity to discuss the importance of conservation, individual action, and the importance of preserving the beauty of the British Isles.
This event was made possible with the support of the World Wildlife Foundation and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. With additional thanks to the National Trust.
The Gazette has teamed with The Anvil to give one lucky person the chance to win two tickets to the show on Friday, May 10.
