BASINGSTOKE Town FC Women got a helping hand recently with a coaching session provided by The Dave Kitson Academy.
The Dave Kitson Academy coaches include Dave Kitson and former Basingstoke Town midfielder James Harper, who both played for Reading in the club's first ever season in the Premier League.
And Town's women, who play in Division 1 of the Hampshire County Women's League, booked the academy's Basingstoke-based coach Kobina Elliott to run a training session for them.
Fresh from their recent 5-0 win against Liphook United Ladies - courtesy of goals from Katie Hindmarsh, Chelsea Pennock, Katie Randell, Lauren Neal and Shannon King - Town were put through their paces by Elliott, who has recently joined The Dave Kitson Academy coaching team and has also coached for Reading, Chelsea, The FA and Premier League.
"The ladies really enjoyed the session with Kobina and look forward to another session," said Matthew Schooling, who organised the coaching session for the team.
