A BASINGSTOKE man has won a car and cash prize worth nearly £35,000 in an online competition.
Mark Powell, 63, who lives in Old Basing, discovered he had won the big prize during a family break in Cornwall.
The holidays turned into a lucky one when he discovered he had won a Ford Puma ST worth £33,000 alongside a £2,000 cash prize courtesy of online competition specialist BOTB.
BOTB presenter Christian Williams video-called Mark to share the exciting news.
“I couldn't believe it when Christian called me. He completely threw me,” said the Daily Draws Competition winner, who said in the call that he had only just come out of the shower.
“I never win anything and it has absolutely made my year. The whole experience was amazing.”

The Ford Puma ST features an i3 Turbo engine, 168bhp and top speed of 130mph.
Despite loving the look of the car, the 63-year-old said he was considering taking the cash alternative.
“I have already got a car - a Nissan Qashqai - and I think the money will mean a lot more to us than another one,” Mark said.
“The cash will come in handy as and when we need it. It can also go very quickly, so I’m quite happy for it to be in the bank and watch it grow.”
BOTB hands over the keys to a stunning dream car each week as well as a lifestyle prize.
Founded by William Hindmarch in 1999, it has given away £64m-worth of cars so far.

“I watch the videos of other winners and to see their reaction is wonderful,” Mark added.
Christian said: “A huge congratulations to Mark on winning this amazing prize.
“After just coming out of the shower, I think I caught him off guard, but it’s good to hear he enjoyed the experience of me surprising him.”
