A MAN has been arrested after two men were spotted with machetes in Basingstoke.
Police were called at 10.37am on Wednesday, March 20, following reports that two men were seen with machetes in Watson Way, Winklebury.
It was reported that the men pulled out the weapons following a verbal altercation with members of the public.
According to Hampshire Constabulary no-one was reported to have been assaulted or injured during the incident, with officers attending the scene and carrying out enquiries in the area.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called at 10.37am on Wednesday 20 March to a report that two men were seen with machetes in Watson Way, Winklebury.
"It was reported that the men pulled out the weapons following a verbal altercation with members of the public.
"No-one was reported to have been assaulted or injured during this incident.
"Officers attended and carried out a number of enquiries in the area.
"A 22-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of affray, possession of a bladed article in a public place and a public order offence.
"He has been released on conditional police bail until Wednesday 19 June, pending further enquiries."
