ONE of the entrances to Down Grange Sports Complex in Basingstoke has been permanently closed.
This is after tools were stolen from Down Grange Depot Yard on Wednesday, January 31, as four individuals gained access to the property through this gate from Coniston Road.
A council spokesperson said the entrance from Coniston Road has been permanently closed as part of additional security measures.
The incident was reported to the police.

Although the entrance is welded up and blocked with earth, the council said the closure would not prevent pedestrian access.
The spokesperson added: "As there are other nearby ways to get into Down Grange on foot, the closure of the vehicle access point is not preventing pedestrian access but protects the building. We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
A police spokesperson said: "On the 31st January 2024 at approximately 2.15am, police were called to a report of a burglary at Down Grange Depot Yard.
"It was reported that four individuals stole some tools from the site.
