PASSENGERS on the number 76 bus were in for a shock as the glass in the bus doors smashed.
The Stagecoach vehicle was traveling to Overton on Wednesday, April 3, when an overhanging branch hit the bus’s mirror, sending it flying back into the window and shattering the doors.
The incident happened at 2.45pm on Wednesday, April 3 near to High Street.

Manuela Wahnon, who was on the bus at the time, said: “The young driver was brilliant. He made a safe stop as soon as he could and got us all off. He was very good.”
Approximately 20 passengers had to get off.
A spokesperson for Stagecoach South said: "We can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved a minor incident on Wednesday 3rd April, whereby, an overhanging tree branch struck the bus whilst travelling towards Overton on a service 76.
"Fortunately, there were no injuries caused. Safety is our absolute priority and we will liaise with the local authority and highways to be sure of safe clearance for all vehicles."
