LIKE a lot of people there are colours that I wear a lot and some not at all, but I had never stopped to think about what suits me best, until now.
I was pretty amazed when I came across the TikTok colour analysis trend that has pulled me into the world of seasonal colours and I wanted to try it out for myself, and luckily had the help from Kate Jones, a style and colour consultant from the House of Colour.
Colour analysis is a process by which a trained colour consultant examines the natural tones in your skin, hair and eyes and demonstrates to you what the best colours are for you to wear.
After previously interviewing Kate, I was intrigued when she told me the TikTok trend has seen her business go 'absolutely crazy' and I decided it was time for to find out why.

Based near Whitchurch, the lovely studio made me feel at home at once.
Being someone who always goes for darker shades of colours I was excited to learn how I could bring some colour into my wardrobe.
I quickly learnt that, like the seasons, there are four categories that people fall into - either autumn, spring, winter or summer.
I wasn’t too shocked to learn I fell into the winter category but I was taken aback to learn that almost any colour can be still be a part of your wardrobe, as long as it's the right shade of course. Even a yellow shade, which is usually my worst nightmare.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I was amazed to see that each colour really does change your whole appearance, brightening your complexation and making you feel super confident.
Kate was like a colour wizard and was really great in explaining the fascinating history behind the wonderful world of colour analysis and the whole experience was really fun too.
Not only this, but I was also shown what make up worked well and was surprised to find a brighter lip colour can be added.
Another element to the whole experience was finding out what hair colour suits you best, using the same techniques.

After that I was able to take home with me a booklet with all my best colours marked up.
The experience really did open my eyes to perhaps venturing into adding a little more colour to my wardrobe with confidence.
