Strong winds hampered the game between North Warnborough and CK Andover on Saturday, resulting in a disappointing 0-0 draw, writes Tony Spencer.
Warnborough had more possession than CK but woeful shooting ultimately cost the hosts two points.
Sam Belcher made some great saves and it was only Shay Barham who tested CK’s keeper in the dying moments.
Early on Alfie Craig had a shot blocked, in the second half Liam Self hit the crossbar, Dan Burnett and Elliott Burgess both hit an upright, while Karl Harlbrough came close to threatening the target from some distance.
Honestly, Warnborough couldn’t hit a cow's backside with a banjo, and the points were shared in a goalless draw.
Silchester Village wasted no time getting the scoreboard going, taking the lead against Overton United Reserves within the first minute.
A well-weighted pass from Callum Bush helped Danny Vickers round the keeper to score 1-0.
The lead was doubled on 12 minutes after Silchester won a corner; Stephen Burgess whipped in the cross for Vickers to rise above two Overton players and head his second goal.
Vickers completed the perfect hat-trick on 23 minutes after play between Bush, Thomas Etheridge and Trent Barrington found Vickers unmarked to tap in from 12 yards, 3-0.
The Silchester midfield failed to pick up an Overton player's run to intercept a corner kick and scored 3-1.
With the wind behind them for the second half, Overton tried to find a way back into the game but that man Vickers popped up again to score his fourth goal with another tap-in from 10 yards, 4-1.
Silchester created chances from Sam Hamilton and substitute Lee Hamilton and, on 63 minutes, a corner by Mario Nurse was headed home by the lively Burgess, 5-1.
On 68 minutes Lee Hamilton made it 6-1 and six minutes from time Barrington got his reward with a lovely volley from outside the penalty area to end the match 7-1.
