Basingstoke Gymnastics Club enjoyed a weekend of success at various competitions, with gymnasts achieving impressive results across different age groups and disciplines.
British Championships Debut for Young Stars:
Roxy, Yusef, and Spencer all competed in their first-ever British Championships, showcasing their talent and determination. In the Under 14 category, Yusef secured a strong 12th place on the Parallel Bars and a commendable 17th place on the High Bar. Spencer also displayed promising skills, finishing 20th on the Parallel Bars and 34th on the High Bar. Roxy competed in the WAG Junior category, achieving a notable 15th place on the Floor exercise.
South Regional Performance:
The club's gymnasts also excelled in the South Regional Performance 1 competition. Rosetta earned a 2nd place finish on the Beam and qualified for the South Region Team, a chance to compete in the National Finals in May. Her teammates, Eve and Inez, also delivered strong performances across various apparatus.
Tumbling Squad Triumphs:
Basingstoke's tumbling squad secured a fantastic haul of medals at the Southern Region Qualifiers. Molly, Matthew, Jago, Poppy, Tristan, and Jasmine all claimed podium finishes, with five gymnasts qualifying for the English Championships.
MAG South Regional Champions:
The club's Male Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) team enjoyed a dominant performance at the South Regional Championships. Oscar, Rio, Theo, Jude, and Alexander all secured All-Around victories in their respective age groups. George, Carter, and Benji also achieved strong finishes with podium placements across various apparatus.
