A ROAD in Basingstoke is blocked due to 'emergency roadworks'.

Part of Popley Way is currently closed and traffic is being stopped from accessing the road from Aldermaston Roundabout. 

It is believed the works are expected to be completed by SGN by Friday, April 26 with traffic delays likely until then.

Stagecoach South has also reported on X that some buses using the route face some delays.

It posted: "#Basingstoke #service 5 #service 4 #due to emergency road works these routes are on diversion sorry for any inconvenience caused."

SGN and Hampshire County Council has been contacted for a comment about the work.
