A NON-PROFIT social club held a litter pick around Tadley to clean up the area, in celebration of Earth Day.
Members of the Loddon Valley Lions got together on Sunday, April 21, splitting up into three groups to cover different areas in Tadley.
Using bags, picker sticks and gloves provided by the town council, the group collected more than 18 bags of litter, consisting of vapes, dog poo bags, cans, bottles, crisp packets, cigarette packs, and more.

One group cleaned up the road from Calleva Park roundabout along the A340, collecting eight bags of rubbish from the ditches, which volunteers said were full of bottles that drivers had thrown.
Another group covered Bishopswood Road, the shops, and Franklin Avenue, collecting 11 bags, which they left for collection from the council.
Earth Day, which was held on Monday, April 22, is an annual event to demonstrate support for environmental protection, and the importance of looking after the planet.

The Lions spent approximately two hours picking litter, with one member saying they 'felt good that they've done their bit to clean up the area they live in'.
The social group runs regular events to support the community and bring joy to residents and will be hosting the Tadley Treacle fair on June 2, with arena displays, stalls, food, and more.
