GIRLGUIDES from Basingstoke have been taking part in a unique challenge.
Over the past 61 days, Brookvale Guiding has led an adventure known as the Walk the World challenge, where girls aged four to 18 from units around the globe came together to embark on a virtual journey to Walk the World.
From Thinking Day, on February 22, to Earth Day, on April 22, the girls competed each week, getting outdoors, counting their steps, and ended up travelling to 31 countries, receiving virtual postcards from other Girlguides around the world and walking a total distance of 3,221 miles.
Brookvale Rangers, a group for girls aged 14 to 18, took home the gold, averaging an incredible 214 miles per girl.
