A new cricket club officially launched in Basingstoke last weekend.
Basingstoke Capital Cricket Club (BCCC) have recently completed its official registration with both the Hampshire Cricket Board and the England and Wales Cricket Board, marking the beginning of an exciting journey for local cricket enthusiasts.
The BCCC players gathered at the War Memorial Park cricket pitch on Sunday, April 28, for an official launch.
Although the team couldn't play their first game due to wet weather, the players honoured their sponsors and patrons as they look forward to beginning an exciting season.

The club will play in Slam Tournaments, engage in midweek T20 matches, and participate in friendly games against various Hampshire league teams on Sundays, all while embracing the challenge of the 40-hour leather ball format.
Club chairman Jessie Edara has promised it will be a community-driven club.
"We are continuously seeking new players to join our club," he said.
"We're passionate about promoting cricket within our local community, and we believe that having a diverse and enthusiastic team is essential to achieving that goal."
Looking ahead to 2025, the club are gearing up to take their game to the next level by joining the prestigious Hampshire Saturday League in Division 6.
Despite missing the deadline to join the league in October 2023, the club said they are filled with enthusiasm and determination for the opportunities that lie ahead.
